Rachael's Experience as a Counsellor and Supervisor

I have been in the counselling and psychotherapy profession since 2003. Throughout this time, I have continued to work with numerous diverse clients who sought counselling for many different reasons. My past experience includes ten years as a counsellor with young people and adults at the Royal Borough of Maidenhead and Windsor local counselling service.

In addition to individual counselling, I am also a qualified clinical supervisor working with both individuals and groups. My aim in supervision is to nurture and develop a collaborative supervisor-supervisee relationship built on mutual respect and trust. I offer consultative support drawn on over 20 years of experience as a counsellor. I supervise both individuals and groups from all disciplines and modalities, during training and post qualification.
As a qualified Person Centred Counsellor, I continue to work under the ethical framework of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists). In addition to my Diploma in Person Centred Counselling, I hold a Certificate in (CBT) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and am a current on-going registered accredited member of the BACP.

Along with my experience in counselling a diverse number of clients from all different walks of life, I have regular professional supervision with a BACP accredited supervisor for all client work which is a requirement of the BACP ethical framework.
As part of my professional development, I regularly attend a diverse range of courses that are relevant to the counselling field.
Rachael's Professional Background

Rachael graduated from Brunel University with a BA (Hons) in Interior Architecture and Design in 1998, which led to the launching of her first career in Architectural Design and Project Management. After working as a designer using CAD systems, Rachael soon found herself working for a successful company with a proven record of providing a blue chip client base with architectural, design, and project management services, including senior project management for Costa Coffee new builds. Rachael’s role within this company has included design consultancy and managing large projects from inception to final handover, serving one of the UK’s most successful FTSE 100 companies as well as managing projects within Heathrow and Gatwick airports alongside BAA.

During Rachael's role as a Project Manager working with various building consultants and disciplines, she realised that her people skills were her greatest asset. This led her to research into the field of counselling, which soon became the direction that she decided to pursue in 2003. Rachael’s creative role as a designer and consultant as well as her highly responsible role as a Project Manager coupled with her training as a qualified counsellor, has enabled her to use her collective experiences to coach, consult, and provide confidential counselling services to major blue chip companies and their employees. Rachael's private client base is located mostly within Buckinghamshire. In addition to providing counselling to private clients, she also provides individual and group supervision, both in person and through remote access.
